Texas had an extreme weather outbreak yesterday. Officials will be surveying the storm damage, but overall, possibly seven tornadoes over multiple cities/counties. We experienced the strong storms but where not in particularly the strongest part of the squall line that formed, nor in the further south where there is a lot of damage, or west of Fort Worth. Oklahoma, also did not fair well in the storm. The storm moved eastward over the southern states and was predicted to weaken.
Hope everyone is okay!

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for most of North Texas, including Dallas County, that expired at 8 p.m. The watch for 36 counties in Texas extended north all the way through Oklahoma and into parts of Arkansas.
We don't have sirens out in pseudo country. All you have is common sense, your weather radio, AM Radio or your TV on until you lose power. Most native Texans know what to do and don't panic. It's really no different then living in other areas of the world, where you might have earthquakes, or hurricanes. With that being said, my heart goes out to those that have lost their homes, property or life from this storm and any of the unpredictable storms that ravage tornado alley during the peak seasons of spring and fall.
*I didn't realize how big this picture would be when I posted it from this article. This is downtown Dallas.
This is also a very mean wall cloud.

The south-central and southeastern portions of the United States are expected to bear the brunt of impacts from a giant cross-country storm beginning on Thanksgiving Day and persisting into the holiday weekend. AccuWeather meteorologists say that the storm will cause numerous delays for holiday travelers and Black Friday shoppers as dangers like localized flooding develop over the extended holiday weekend.
Weather.com and Wunderground.com used to have detailed written descriptions of up coming weather events, rather mild to extreme; now mostly a lot of videos. I'm one of those weather nerds, that enjoys reading why we are going to have a raging storm, winter storm or the potential for severe weather with super cells. I'm adding this link here from www.accuweather, because they are one of the few weather websites that maintains this service without subscription under their "news" section. You have to look a bit, beyond your local weather forecast, but it's there.

If you live in the US you are likely experiencing the winter storm/blizzard, covering at least 48 states which is expected to turn into a bomb cyclone. This winter storm is named Elliot.
A bomb cyclone is a fast-developing storm that occurs when atmospheric pressure drops at least 24 millibars over a 24-hour period, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration note online.
"A bomb cyclone occurs when atmospheric pressure at the center of the cyclone drops rapidly. In order to approximately qualify, the pressure needs to drop about 1 [millibar], or more, every hour over a 24-hour period," John Moore, a public affairs specialist and meteorologist for the National Weather Service, told CBS News.
"This can happen when a cold air mass collides with a warm air mass, such as air over warm ocean waters," NOAA explains.

In Texas, temperatures were expected to quickly plummet Thursday, but state leaders promised there wouldn't be a repeat of the February 2021 storm that overwhelmed the state's power grid and was blamed for hundreds of deaths.
Gov. Greg Abbott, in a news conference Wednesday, was confident the state could handle the increased demand for energy as the temperatures dropped.“I think trust will be earned over the next few days as people see that we have ultra-cold temperatures and the grid is going to be able to perform with ease,” he said.
