    A very strange storm just passed. It was fast moving, went a few directions, had a few tornado warnings, some 2 inch hail but overall, most of North Texas did okay. East Texas is taking on the severe part though as I write this message.

    The storm that went through the other night was just gaining steam from Texas before going through, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and caused an incredible amount of damage and loss of life. Twenty thee people died in this storm.

    After seeing the pictures on the news last night, I knew already this was not just EF1 or EF2 long track tornadoes because when the trees are bare and homes are totally destroyed and it looks like nuclear winter, the tornado had to be an EF-3 or more. The National Weather service has already given the rating on this tornado as an EF-4. While that gives me no comfort in thinking of the power of mother nature, I would like to just reach out for a moment to those with so much loss. We are thinking of you and wishing you hope and recovery.

    Devastating damage and loss of life from the storm that spawned in East Texas that went through Arkansas and the Ohio Valley states. At least twelve people lost their lives in this storm. Praying for these cities and folks that lost so much.

    Just checked the weather (I know you're surprised) , and....it would seem like the weather forecast is changing for Texas tomorrow. Now we have some storms that may be severe in the afternoon. I'm still watching it, because any condition could change. Rarely do we have bad storms in the mid afternoon, but anytime it's after 5pm, it's fair game with the right conditions. Maybe "they" don't have the right timing and are writing the forecast in a broader canvas for possible locations that may be affected depending on the speed of the storm?

    Texan's and those in the south eastern states has severe weather expected this afternoon. PLEASE pay attention to weather alerts. This is one of those severe weather outbreaks with all modes of severe weather expected.

    For lack of better words, funky weather coming in to the south over the next couple of days.

    Marginal chance of severe weather today, but tomorrow has more of a forecast inline with severe weather (severe storms, wind, hail and possibility of tornadoes) in some places. Both days, gusty winds and hail.

    The weather forecast has been elevated to severe storms in Texas and southern states to the east. I've looked at the future radar and I really don't see how this squall line can form further east of Dallas, as it usually does. This is a good day to be weather aware and if you can put off after work errands until tomorrow, I'd do that too. https://weather.com/storms/severe/news/2023-04-25-severe-weather-forecast-texas-gulf-coast-hail-tornadoes North-central Texas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Waco and Tyler, is the area most likely to see severe weather this afternoon and evening, as depicted by the red shading in the map below.     Our weather has been rather calm the past couple of weeks, however, some torrential rains are expected over the weekend, at least in some parts of Texas. Other parts of Texas near the Oklahoma border, Oklahoma and Kansas are expecting some sever storms. May is almost over with the spring weather. Before too long, we will all be complaining how hot it is and the drought summer.

    Hurricane seasons starts June 1. Hopefully, the Pacific and the Atlantic will stay a bit calmer with El Nino in place this summer.

    We had some severe weather, minus tornadoes yesterday. The hail was extreme with the 60 mph wind. I do have some video and pictures, but the video never does the actual storm experience justice in viewing.

    Out of my three dogs, two of them are now bothered by storms since our receiver blew up with a lightening strike about two months ago. It was a load bang coming from the room it was in, and now my dogs associate thunderstorms with that expected "bang". Gidget gets her "mellow shirt" which is like a light thunder coat for dogs during storms now. It helps to calm her and Snowey is my other new scardey-cat and both need to be held. Champy is the coolest and nothing phases him.

    There was a lot of wind and yards are full of debris from the storm.

    May is the last month and usually the most volatile month for severe storms as spring is fully in play.
