The Politics of Trump

Trump indicted again on 7 criminal accounts. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/08/politics/trump-indictment-truth-social-classified-documents/index.html

I was wrong when Trumps indictment would be announced. "They" announced Trump's indictment after the US oversight committee reviewed the documents yesterday only possible after the FBI was held in contempt of congress for withholding the documents. The documents allegedly show both Biden's connection with bribery in the Burisma Company in Ukraine.

From what I understand with the 7 counts indictment, if Trump is found guilty of all charges, he will never leave prison. On the other hand, those that have been criminal charged in the past, those that have been found guilty were the people that willingly shared their information with other contacts. It's my understanding the justice system will have to prove that Trump purposely shared these classified documents in some capacity to be found guilty. But then, that's one opinion and everyone has an opinion right now.

After spending some time processing Trump's legal woes, I don't really think Trump can explain the boxes stacked in a bathroom and his ballroom at Mar-a-Lago? However those documents got there, the question becomes more, who moved them there and why? Why weren't they in a more secure place and if Trump wasn't supposed to have them, where was the team that put all of that together and their knowledge of what a President can and can not have? Where is the accountability from top-down?

Latest Trump indictments surrounding January 6.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/08/01/indictment-document-trump-jan-6-pdf/

This link has the full indictment.

I think this indictment is the most serious. The conspiracy charges will likely not stick, but I think the obstruction charges may be his most serious charge.

The released indictment below details the full charges, including conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, obstructing a congressional proceeding and conspiracy against rights.

I'm astounded today at this fourth indictment of Trump coming out of Georgia. I don't think it really matters if you are a democrat or republican. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/14/politics/donald-trump-fulton-county-georgia/index.html

The historic 41-count indictment unsealed Monday is the fourth criminal case that Trump is facing.

All 19 co-defendants must surrender by August 25 at noon, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told reporters Monday after the indictment was released.

Today are the Republican's first debate and Trump will not be taking part in the debate citing he's taken the lead and doesn't need too. I believe it's more because now he has four indictments and legally he could be put in a tight spot on the stage that could be compromising. Tomorrow Trump will submit himself to be arrested in Georgia. Many of his constituents on the latest indictment have already turned themselves in.

There's a lot of name calling and heated levels from both sides with the condition of Trumps arrest.

I never liked when H. Clinton called Republicans deplorable's. I didn't like when George Bush in a 911 speech called American Extremists the new terrorists. Name calling isn't helpful and it gives license to people to do the same, to do it for shock value and internet notoriety and to be remembered. The American people remember a lot and it doesn't take the internet to remind us that we are so divided. Those are just two examples where name calling is used against a group of people and not just calling out one person. Does America have issues, OMG, yes we do, but until people start listening to each other and put their agendas into perspective, we will continue to one up each other from republican party to the democrat party in ways that constantly keep a divisive barrier that can't heal.

I'm very concerned about the level of judicial heat that's being directed towards Trump and his staff under him in this recent indictment. This should concern everyone no matter what party you are in.

Trump has now surrendered to Fulton County Ga., for indictment number 4. He submitted himself to the full processing as anyone else, including mug shot, and finger printing.

No matter what you think, if Trump deserves this or not, this is a historical day in our judicial system and there will be no peace in the months ahead until, during and after his trials.

All other people named in this indictment have also surrendered themselves and subjected to the same treatment of mug shots and finger printing. It must feel surreal for a lawyer to be on the other side of the justice system?

Trump in full trumpian fashion, made his first post on X in two years (formally Twitter) sharing his mug shot.

I guess the shoes are starting to drop in Trump's cases. Today a judge found Trump guilty of fraud during the time Trump was building his construction empire.

    https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/judge-rules-donald-trump-defrauded-banks-insurers-while-building-real-estate-empire/ar-AA1hiCSH

Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making dealsand securing financing.

My dh and I are watching a series on Netflex series, Turning Point:  The Bomb and the Cold War Explores Impact of US-Soviet Conflict

    https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/turning-point-bomb-cold-war-release-date-trailer-news

Today we watched one episode and I was surprised at the in depth look at McCarthy and the Russian trials.  What particularly caught my attention was the young attorney that represented McCarthy was Ron Cohn.  Ron Cohn became Trump's attorney on Trump's rise in his dominance in New York Real Estate and Politics.

If you wanted to understand Trump, then you will understand Ron Cohn was directly responsible in a lot of ways.
