Lol Mark! :D Perfect pig pics, both for the wild boars and the females. I noticed when I was watering the lawn a lot this past summer and particularly this past month, the wet grass was attractive to the wild pigs. I haven't watered in two weeks because we have a broken sprinkler head line, the underground hose detached from the sprinkler head, thus making quite a geyser. Our ground isn't as wet and the first three weeks of October are predicted to be pretty dry. Not sure when I'll get some pics, but I'm hoping if it's not pigs, that I'll get some coyotes and maybe a bobcat. I've only seen a bobcat once in our neighborhood (here about 13 years) and I couldn't get a pic because I was driving, but I'd really like to get one. Thanks for making me laugh, Mark!

So far my new wildlife camera has brought video and pictures of an opossum and a skunk on separate nights. When they trot off across the lawn it's pretty cute.

    Possum or Opossum?

Possums are native to Australia, New Zealand, and China, while Opossums live in America and Southern Canada.

What's the difference between a possum and an opossum? While they have similar names, possums and opossums are distinct animals. Here are seven key differences between these marsupials.

Ha......sometimes you live somewhere so long that letters will be dropped off words you say but then you never realize how one letter makes a difference like the "o" in opossum are the marsupials of the America's and possum without the "o" are the marsupials of the eastern side of the world such as New Zealand, Australia and China thanks to your great link for highlighting those relative differences. Thank you for sharing the link. Living in the south of the US, saying "possum" is common because language can become inherently lazy or with the younger generation everything is dialed down to acronyms or phonetically spelled....so saying "possum" happens.

I looked it up because in some posts you called them Possum and then Opossum, when you first said Opossum I just thought it was a spelling mistake, then I thought, "I'm sure Possums come from Australia?" So until I looked it up I'd never heard of Opossums! lol
