Lol...I can say most recently I have had a looming adventure....through text

I guess my form of looming would be graphic design. It's awesome when it all goes great.  When it's not going great then it's no longer the chill time I wanted, now it's battle time.

I can recall making pot holders with those red plastic looms when I was a kid a century ago.  That was relaxing.  I also use to embroider (hadn't done that since last century) and really find sketching relaxing.  When my daughter was young we used to color all of the time.  I think I'd "color" if I needed to totally block out the world for a bit, but the coloring books would have to be one of those awesome detailed sophisticated sort of challenging coloring books...that is if I needed to "color".

I tried knitting and crocheting. Those were both hard....I even have a book called, Stitch and *****.  Nope, that book couldn't get me there either except for the second part of the title.  There was a lot of that.  My Nana crocheted.  I still have all of the items she made for me; 2 ponchos, 2 vests, 3 purses, several afghans, her aprons she actually used and maybe a few other items, all of which are carefully stored in a bin, folded with love.  I miss her!  Her hobbies were definitely cooking, baking, pickling, and crocheting.

I can remember going to JcPenney's with my mom when I was little as she would peruse the McCall's and Butterick pattern books for new patterns of clothes she wanted to make.  My mom used to sew a lot of my clothes and her clothes too!  I totally forgot about those adventures.  I enjoyed looking at the books too, which likely were inspiring to sketch my own dream clothes.

On crocheting, the best I could do was a chain.  Stained glass....weren't there some kits you could buy and color and then bake it in the oven for glass?  Love lace, though hadn't tried it, would take a lot of patience.  Paint by number....yesssss....did that a lot!

Crafts are awesome.  A great way to keep little ones busy and adults minds healthy and active!

Making a couple of tee's and a pillow is pretty amazing and ambitious.  No shop class for you, me neither....I'd like to keep my finger's too...lol!!

In Texas, we all had to take one semester of HomeEd in HS.  I took the cooking class.  For my final, I made lunch crepes for my class, filled with ham, a sauce, water chestnuts etc. For the record, I hardly spend anytime in the kitchen.  I cook, but I'd rather be doing something else.  That sounds like a bumper sticker...lol.

I hated shop. We had to have both in my school. Made a napkin holder that kept up until my ex broke it about 20 years ago. 

Home-Ec was fun. I loved sewing - made a unicorn stuffed animal that I still have. I even wrote a children's book, Homer the Little Unicorn. lol.

Glad you found a craft you like. Have you done any more sewing? If not, maybe you should take it up again.

Wow, you did "shop"?  I'm sorry your ex broke your napkin holder.

Of course you made a unicorn.....and wrote an inspiring children's book.  Now I'll have to look that up.  We love unicorn's and Pegasus's too! Alexis is full of unicorns and I have my share of Webkinz unicorns (shshshsh...don't tell)

Inspiring children with a positive book that teaches children to be okay with who they are is a great way to share your heart.  I can't tell you how many times when I was young, my mom insisted that I be "me" and to be okay with being different.  I think I turned out okay with that part of parenting.  The other good part, is it made me very intuitive to others feelings and needs and to stick up for those being bullied or mistreated and I've been like that my entire life.

Wow, so impressed, lol!! What a fun day with happy people having a great time. Brings back memories of my childhood.  My dad was really into mooing like a cow when we went on road trips.
