Spring and Fall are usually the most aggressive seasons for severe weather events in the United States. In the months of June to November, hurricane season may increase weather events not only on the coastlines but inundation inland in many of the southern states at the Gulf of Mexico and the Eastern Coast States from Florida to Maine.
Spring of 2024 has been a particularly active season for multi-day weather events. Here in the south, we are currently experiencing a four-day weather event with all modes of bad weather possible from any thunderstorm.
Over the past two days, Nebraska, Ohio and Iowa have had severe weather with large tornadoes. I thought I'd share some of the news and videos because if you're not familiar with the level of violent weather that can develop in the US prairie lands, you may find this interesting and some of the videos captured breath taking. While all of this has it's doom-scrolling effect, keep in mind that many people have lost their homes, businesses have been destroyed and many cities are in complete disarray with severe damage to streets and highways and likely without power. Our hearts go out to the folks that have to rebuild their homes and lives after such a tragedy.
