United States passport holders have long traveled throughout most of the world without having to worry about visa applications: American travelers currently have visa-free access to 184 destinations worldwide, according to this year’s Henley Passport Index, which ranked the U.S. passport as the eighth most powerful in the world. But that’s set to change next year, as the European Union prepares new travel document requirements for American tourists.

Thenew regulations are called the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). When the system launches in early 2024, it will require all visitors who currently travel to Europe visa-free, such as citizens from the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, to apply for travel authorization and receive approval prior to their departure.

I read the article above but it does not mention the UK. I know we have now left the EU but how does it stand for the UK? Have you ever visited the UK from the US?

I have never been to the UK, but have always wanted to go. This new regulation seems to affect America? Does the UK usually have separate regulations from the rest of Europe since parting from the EU?

I'm not sure as I don't think we have fully pulled out yet, Brexit is still on-going I think.

Brexit is a complicated transition to grasp an understanding. There are parts of states in America that want to "exit" their state, and be absorbed in another state where their politics and ideology are more aligned, such as part of North California and Oregon want to become the New Idaho. I think there's a large city in either Georgia or Florida that wants to change too. Texans are always trying to "Texit".
