The World Health Organization has been working on drafting a Pandemic Treaty for the World since 2021, subsequently designed for the purpose of handling future pandemics in a more efficient manner and creating "equity" of resources from various countries. This is probably the first article I've read on the drafting of this treaty that seems written without bias and is just informative. Some say that if the United States signs this treaty, that the WHO will supersede US sovereignty. This has been argued greatly among pundits, legal authorities and legislators. This article states that this treaty does not intend to force a countries sovereignty, but suggests to incentivize countries to follow guidelines. The sovereignty of individual states is protected in the document as a guiding principle, Karim says. The agreement is not intended to force countries to adopt all of its recommendations, but to incentivize cooperation through mutual benefits. For example, if high-income countries comply by sharing resources such as vaccines, low- and middle-income countries will be more likely to share epidemiological data, which will strengthen pandemic prevention strategies that benefit everyone. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-01805-4
