Climate Chage- Is it accelerating it's course to heat up our earth?

Do these heat waves mean climate change is happening faster than expected? Interesting article by MIT about the effects of climate change and that the earth has accelerated more then expected in it's climate change.

Found this article on Mortal's Realm. It's a controversial topic on "climate change", challenging the current ideology. Dr. Manheimer holds a physics PhD from MIT and has had a 50-year career in nuclear research, including work at the Plasma Physics Division at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. He has published over 150 science papers. In his view, there is “certainly no scientific basis” for expecting a climate crisis from too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the next century or so. He argues that there is no reason why civilization cannot advance using both fossil fuel power and nuclear power, gradually shifting to more nuclear power. Net Zero will lead to the end of Modern Civilisations, Says top Scientists. https://www.technocracy.news/scientist-net-zero-will-lead-to-the-end-of-modern-civilization/ The science paper link: https://ccsenet.org/journal/index.php/jsd/article/view/0/47745

    Hi,

I just read the full article, not sure really how to take it! Who do you believe, is it all propaganda, maybe for an ulterior motive? Although I am a scientifically minded person (Electrician by trade) I do keep up every now and then on climate change and the advances in nuclear fusion technology, but I think his, to quote "Net Zero will lead to the end of Modern Civilizations", I take this to mean that we stop producing extra CO2 and let nature re-balance and take care of the rest. The way I take his view on this is he's talking about completely eradicating CO2 all together, which would, yes be the end of civilization! I don't know, maybe I'm missing something or just read into it wrong!

I don't know, maybe I'm missing something or just read into it wrong! I don't think you've missed a thing, actually grasped it better then I did and I just had to read it again this morning. He has published over 150 science papers. In his view, there is “certainly no scientific basis” for expecting a climate crisis from too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the next century or so. He argues that there is no reason why civilisation cannot advance using both fossil fuel power and nuclear power, gradually shifting to more nuclear power. My take is the same in the way of propaganda, way too much of it anymore on any topic and it seems you have to always do your homework to get to the true fact of a story, that is if you can as research on the internet can have so many road blocks. My impression was Dr. Manheimer favors nuclear power over any other source of power. Here's the part of this article that challenges "climate change": The author notes that the emphasis on a false climate crisis is becoming a “tragedy for modern civilisation”, which depends on reliable, affordable and environmentally viable energy. “The windmills, solar panels and backup batteries have none of these qualities,” he states. This falsehood has been pushed by what has been termed a climate industrial complex, comprising some scientists, most media, industrialists and legislators. Furthermore, he continues, this grouping has “somehow” managed to convince many that CO2 in the atmosphere, a gas necessary for life on Earth, one which we exhale with every breath, is an environmental poison. Here's where I stand....data is important, honest data. I can see where our current earth's atmosphere and climate has changed over decades, by the charts and data and I do agree that we should be the best stewards of taking care of earth. My "however" part is that our earth has an abundance of resources and the way I see it is this.....each country has a vast amount of mineral, gas oil and lithium resources, some countries have more or less then others. Lithium predominately comes from China and Russia. Oil and gas is profusely available from Canada, the US, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and a few other middle eastern countries. If everyone on earth switches to now drive electric cars, to save the oil and gas, now we will exhaust the mining of Lithium and other minerals needed for batteries etc. What happens when we are at war with one of these countries (Russia-Ukraine) and all of sudden our inventory drops so low to make the batteries that run the cars? The perfect word in most scenarios in life is "balance" and the word that appears in my head every time think of our future. Balance is the key, because then we don't use up all of our resources in one area, and I do see the point of not using all of of our gas and oil resources, that do deserve environmental concern too. In my vision of the future, I see a balance of all of the earths resources used with be best tech available based on the region, their resources, their climate. Best example would be, if you had a home in the Caribbean, your government may not want to add a lot of wind generators because of the hurricanes; perhaps solar with electric is a better option? If you lived in the Yukon of Canada, where it's freezing cold all of the time, then oil or hydro, might be a better heating source? My grandfather was an electrician by trade and so were all of his brothers. The trades are another vocation that lacks the respect those trades people deserve. Without electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanics the world just couldn't work. There's a significant amount of study, serious math, complex formulas and engineering in all of those trades.

All right, I had my last response all nicely written in several paragraphs that changed when I went to edit just one word and my nice little paragraphs all meshed together in one giant paragraph....sigh...

Now I'm not very into politics, not my scene, but who ultimately is responsible for our environment? Nature, the people of the planet, or the greedy corporations and industrialists who profit one way or another either from the demise of, or by saving our planet?

Is that where the propaganda comes from, the money makers?

I agree with you, balance has to be the key, but unless people, countries, governments, corporations etc. start to work together it will be a rocky road ahead for our beautiful planet, our home, the place we were given unconditionally to live and thrive!

I wish I was not into being politically informed . Yes, agreed, you nailed it. Politics are ugly by itself, then "they" takeover certain aspects of our lives and turn it into a greedy institution now the dynamics have changed of the core principles of the science. There's the key also, not all countries are working together so how can we be the best earth stewards in the end? I think taking care of the earth is like caring for anything we do personally just on a grand scale, with forethought and planning into centuries. I don't know, maybe "they" do plan?
